WHAT IS SECURE SOCKETS LAYER (SSL)?
SSL is an optional service offered by Voicegateway.com Web Services that provides support for secure pages.

HOW IS SSL USED ON MY WEBSITE?
The SSL optional service allows you to designate any page or pages as secure requiring all transmissions between the web server and the user's browser to be encrypted (scrambled). SSL security is very straightforward for the designer: once security is enabled, simply reference the web pages using https:// instead of http://.

WHAT DO I NEED TO CREATE A SECURE SITE?
The SSL optional service works in conjunction with industry standard secure certificates. The security certificate is obtained from an official certificate authority and must be installed on the web server itself.

WHAT DOES A SECURE CERTIFICATE COST?
The SSL optional service works with security certificates from Comodo Ltd.  The charge for a certificate is $50/year.  (Certificates are also available from other sources, such as Verisign, for as much as $350/year.)

HOW DO I OBTAIN A SECURE CERTIFICATE?
Obtaining a certificate for use with the SSL optional service is easy.  We'll do all the work for you - we fill out the technical and business information, generate the encryption keys, and install the certificate on our servers for you.
