New outbound mail delivery server |
Increased performance and
reliability for email
We have completed installation of a new outbound mail server.
This new server is dedicated to delivering outbound email and
does not handle any other functions. Our existing mail
servers continue to provide POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, WebMail,
anti-virus, and spam blocking but now all final delivery is
performed by a dedicated server.
We will continue to
deploy additional servers and equipment to insure the
performance of our systems. Our infrastructure
includes over thirty different servers handling web hosting,
ftp, email services, database processing, online
collaboration (Windows SharePoint Services), security, and
network management.
We know you have
many choices when it comes to choosing a hosting company.
We work hard to insure that what's "under the hood" is
capable of supporting your needs now and in the future.
Our goal is to
provide high-value services at an affordable price. We
don't claim to be the lowest-cost service (after all, there
is always "free" hosting), but you'll find our prices are

Keep reading for some tips and suggestions on how to avoid
or solve them.
ISSUE #1 - My hard disk
just crashed and I lost everything so I need my passwords.
SOLUTION: Keep a written
record of your passwords the old-fashioned way - on a piece
of paper. Don't rely on your FTP or Web publishing
software "remembering" your login settings and don't just
keep a copy of your password in an email saved on your
system.
ISSUE #2 - I can receive
email but I can't send. I get "Error 550".
SOLUTION: For our mutual
protection, your email software must login to our servers
before you can send any mail. This is called "outbound
email authentication". For step-by-step directions,

ISSUE #3 - My site is down
and I haven't touched it in months
SOLUTION: Check if
your domain registration is expired. If your domain
registration is not renewed, most registrars will turn off
your domain in a few days, not months. Contact the
company through which you originally registered your domain
name ("Domain Registrar") for further assistance.

TIPS: Don't be Shy |
To visit your web site, your
prospects must learn its' name. If you they don't know
your domain name, they can't visit you. It's important
not to be shy! Promote your domain name all the time
and with everything you do.
It may seem obvious, but
there are many people that do not have their domain name on
their business cards or letterhead. But don't overlook
the rest of your printed materials. Be sure and put
your web address on your brochures, price lists, catalogs,
post cards, mailing labels, envelopes, packages, cartons,
packing slips, invoices, collection letters, and anything
else you distribute.
If you have a business
vehicle, make sure your domain is painted alongside your
name and phone number. Yellow pages, newspapers, and
other other traditional advertising should also have your
web listed.
Promotional items - pens,
coffee mugs, t-shirts, bumper stickers and anything else you
give away as gifts or thank-you items should not be
neglected.
The goal is to make sure
your domain name is always associated with your business.
You don't have to use large letters or bright colors unless
appropriate. Don't shout, but make sure you are heard.
