Virtual Machine Technology Overview

Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 provides a complete virtual machine technology (VM) that enables multiple operating systems to run concurrently on a single machine.

With VM technology we can provide the equivalent of multiple fully dedicated servers without the high cost.  Each virtual machine acts, looks, feels, and operates just like a real server.

Our VM hosting gives you full administrative rights to control the entire virtual machine.  You access the VM server using Windows Terminal Services Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) - that's exactly the same way our dedicated server clients gain access to their systems.

Microsoft VM technology isn't a simulator or operating system trick - each VM is a complete virtual system with BIOS, startup, and virtual hard drives.  Of course, that means in your role as "virtual administrator" you must apply all the same service packs, fixes, and updates that you would use with a regular server and you must securely "lockdown" the server exactly the same way.  (Don't worry, we're here to help!)
